Tired of having to see the same image again and again every time you open SolidWorks?
How exciting is it that today I'm here to tell you that you can change the image shown at the start of the program yourself.
Today I'm going to give you an example of how to change a Splash image so everyone can try it out.
In my case, I'm using SolidWorks 2021 SP5.0 Well, let's do it.
1. Create a new folder where and whatever name you want.
2. Copy the file named "sldres1u.dll" from the folder where the program is installed, usually C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\lang.
Put it in the folder you created.
3. Prepare about 30-40 images you want to make them versatile and not boring. The image must be an image with no background. This will be more beautiful than a picture with a background.
3.1 In the image preparation process Maybe use rendering with background cut off. You can use the Render Tools in Solidworks right away.
4. Prepare Resource editor type tools such as Resource Hacker, RisohEditor, Anolis Resourcer, etc.
5. Open the sldres1u.dll file with the Resource editor you use.
6. Go to PNG section and start clicking on the file that starts with IDR.
Each image name has 3 resolution levels: small images for display on small screens, size 600 x 402 pixels, medium images for display. The general size screen will have a size of 900 x 603 pixel, a large image for display on a high-resolution screen will have a size of 1200 x 804 pixel. In the observation of medium-sized images, there will be letters MED in the name and large images. There is a letter LRG in the name.
7. I'm going to start with the picture titled. IDR_SS_BETA_IMAGE1 : 1033 by right-clicking and selecting "Replace Resource".
8. Keep doing this until all files starting with IDR characters.
9. Press Save after done.
10.Copy or Cut the "sldres1u.dll" file to overwrite the original one.
11.Try open SolidWorks to see the changes.
